To you, for you, In favour of WMS

Allow me to dedicate this post to WMS.

Dear WMS,

To all my adored colleagues and beloved company Western Mortgage Services (WMS) I would like to take this opportunity to express my greatest appreciation to you.

Right, I joined WMS on 26/05/2006, I have learned a lot be it from working experience or social life. I was the only Malaysian and Chinese in WMS and because of that everyone in the company knows me. And still is. =.=

Let me describe my experience at the interview time with WMS. It was a few weeks before my final year exam and I was excited but I considered myself lucky to be short listed for being a foreigner in UK. The interview went quite well. I brought the certificates and transcripts along with me on that day but I forgot to show the documents to them! How forgetful I was! The file was brought there with me and left unopened until I reach home. I thought “I’m dead. No hope this time. Not a single chance!”. But surprisingly, I received a call the next few days and YES! I’ve been offered. Whoosh! I’m so proud of myself for being able to secure a job before I graduate.

I still remembered I was pretty nervous on my first day. I went to the HR department and had some introduction with Health and Safety training, working policy, IT policy, bla bla bla. Then I met my then manager who interviewed me previously. The meeting took place in a small meeting room. And when I tried to stand up to follow him to the IT department, the table suddenly fell down! The legs came off from the table surface and off it went down. OMG, I was sooooo embarrassed you know. I didn’t expect something like this happened. On my first day wor.

Anyway, I had to learn a new development tool called Magic, which WMS acquired since 1999 from day one and which I don’t have a clue about it from my university education! It’s not a programming language but it’s a tool (something similar to Microsoft Access) with a mixture of programming concept which WMS use for in-house systems. It was pretty difficult at first but with the help of Gary, my then mentor now my team leader, I took it quite well. Whoosh!

I don’t like to be sitting in the office doing nothing so I always came up to Gary asking for more jobs. Haha For a period, I think Gary got really scared of me whenever he saw me coming. I was known to him and the other team leaders from the same department as Maggs the machine. T.T Because I completed the assigned tasks so quickly that these really amazed them and Gary knew that he had to find a new project for me not long after he gave me one. I didn’t realised that myself until they told me a few months ago.

So within months I was able to get involved with more challenging projects, which I admit a lot of experience gained from there. Personally I enjoyed working with WMS. I didn’t felt that I was discriminated or bullied and mix well with the colleague at work. The most important thing of all I think my English has improved working with WMS. I went from only speak out only on project related stuff to jokes with my colleagues. Sometimes they do tease me for not speaking English properly, but I don’t really take note of it because nah…I can’t be bothered.

Seriously, WMS is a good company to work for. I enjoyed the benefits provided from WMS. 26 paid annual leave, compressed working hours from five days to four days a week, 9 months paid maternity leave, paid sick leave and a small funding over getting a new spectacles and lots more, what else can I ask for? I would certainly recommend anyone to work with WMS. It's the best company I enjoyed. If not, I won't stay there for 3 years!

However due to family reasons, hubby and me along with the support from AJ, we decided to move back for Malaysia starting fresh so that we could be together as one whole real family. At least we are not separated too far away compared to thousand miles away in UK which can be reachable, huggable, touchable after 13 hours flight from London to KL plus the 4 hours train to Plymouth, 1 hour drive from SIbu airport to Sarikei also not mentioning the waiting hours in between in the airports. T.T

Today is my last day and to my surprise, they even decorate my table today and giving me farewell gifts. They are so lovely, weren’t they? I was so emo when they gave me the pressies and cried. *sob sob* They made me sad to leave. Anyway, we had the leaving buffet lunch at the Buffet city restaurant which was good.

Quick update

While most Chinese over the world having dumplings to celebrate this festive day, I went to work, so did hubby and AJ. We didn't know today it is the day until I've received wishes from my friends. Thanks to them..haha...We didn't have any dumplings either. T.T Not to worry...

At the meantime, today is the last day AJ goes to Kings nursery. He's changing to a new nursery nearer to where we live. The change is necessary for better mobility as we have sold our car about two weeks ago. It is also the last day Rudy sent and get AJ to the day care. Thanks Rudy for his huge help.

To be honest, I think AJ will missed the nursery. I've starting to miss it myself already. He really enjoyed his time there from just looking at the photos and learnt a lot from there too. He's going to a new nursery - Bambinos starting on Monday with hubby sending him off in the morning and me picking him up at the evening. Woot! can't wait...

He'll having a few hours settling in session tomorrow and I'm hoping that he'll be doing fine. Expect some tears from him. Can't escape! *wishing he won't though

Speaking of tomorrow. 3 years tomorrow. excatly 3 years I've since worked with my company. Gosh...time flies quick. Hubby is using bus to reach his office from tomorrow. Poor him has to wake up earlier as he has to walk for about 15 mins to the bus stop. A good exercise for him though.

I know this may not be new to you guys but I just watched the oscar award winning movie - the Slumdog millionaire. In short, I enjoyed it. Probably because I myself is a fan of Hindi movies. Weird, huh! I used to spend my afternoon watching TV Hindi movies and I'm a fan of Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor, Amitabh Bachan.

Right, back to the movie. I love the youngest Salim. He's so cute and I can't believed he actually jumped down through the toilet hole into a pool of dirty smelly shitty just to get an autograph from Amitabh Bachan. That's so unbelieveable. Salim is not clever nor educated but the life he had since childhood had earn him the winner in the who wants to be a millionaire Hindi version. He went through a really cruel and tough life but I'm satisfied with the happy ending. If you haven't watch it, you should watched it.

Guess what! I scaled myself today and was shocked to know that I've gained 3 kg threeeee kg since my holiday. I know I've talked about going back to the diet regime but I didn't managed to stop my cravings. No one to blame in this case as this is all my fault. But I'm blaming on my nosy hands and mouth with the persuasion from my brain. So, I'm now on strict diet. No more ice-cream, less meaty, lotsa vege & fruits even though I'm so sick with them. But will have ice-cream once or twice a month to pamper myself at this summer before it ends around August/September. I'm soooooooooooooooo serioussssssssssssss!!!!!

Weather forecastor predicts that it's going to be a lovely sunny weekend so I can't wait to enjoy the lovely weekend. No definite plan though. Most probably case would be a visit to Aj's playground, to the town for some walk...etc etc....

Moved

Calm down hehehe….My blog is still here and still is. Unless I got a really nice free website which has more advanced post writing facility and better photos uploading facility like FB compared to blogger. Blogger is really crap at the moment when you can only upload maximum 5 photos at a time. =.=

Anyway, back to the purpose of this post. I have moved officially from the centre of the building (where I work). There has been a restructure in my department (again) and desk move is needed to group the team properly. Ohh…it’s within the same building and at the same floor. I don’t mind moving around as long there’s someone to move my machine to my new desk.

And I didn’t know my new place until yesterday. It’s a window seat! It’s so cool. You can’t believe it, don’t you? Normally, you could only get a window seat if you’re a senior, team leader or a boss! Haha…

My new work area
Here’s the view outside from my window

Nice, right?

Honestly, there’s nothing peculiar to get a window seat working area. You might be like I was before you move and a few minutes after the move. It’s just another space within a building, a space for you to contribute to the company and waiting to get paid at the end of the month.

The obvious benefit you’ll get is a view from outside watching birds flying freely in the sky or occasionally a plane crosses over or a sudden thunder or snow or hailstorm or rain or be the first to see something unusual (hopefully not UFO) within your visibility area. Then shouting in front of your colleagues as it’s an open office plan “Everyone, look!” =.= It’s good to keep my brain active for image interpretation once in a while for my point of view as I’m using the computer all the time at work. And oh oh oh! I’m very close to the heater which will heat up my cold body at winter. Wooohooo….

Then after all those excitements, you’re back to the down side. You won’t know when there’s someone standing behind you and caught you slacking because too much attraction from the outside view. I'm not slacking, ok? =.= and too much sunlights coming from the window because of the direction I’m sitting at. The bright lights are making too much use of my eyes to focus on my monitor. Guess that can be avoided by putting on the blinds. That’s if my colleagues are happy with that. I might shift the monitor to the other way. But hey, I’m getting the warmth from the sun at winter. Should this be a good point? You don’t get much warmth at winter anyway. Stupid me….

There’s a give and take afterall. I moved to the window seat area a bit late today about 2 hours before I left for the day and I have counted nearly 24 birds flying in the sky. =.= It’s not that I don’t have nothing to do. My eyes were focusing in the monitor but I can still see a wee bit of the never-ending sky. Hehe….:) I’m thinking the positive side anyway – be the first to shout UFO! UFO! haha....

Weee…

There has been a change to my company’s working hours. I would say, it’s quite big as it affects my personal life. This subject was brought to our (employees) attention around Christmas last year. Because of the vagueness information when we were briefed, I didn’t mention about it until this has confirmed.

And guess what? Yipeee!

Time waits for no men (women on top), this project is going ahead as far as I can see. I just signed the new contract detailing the change of working hours. The executive board believe this brings benefits to both the company and us. I certainly support for this new pattern for it affects my personal life too.

With effect tomorrow, my weekly working hours is reduced from 37.5 to 35 hours. Isn’t it great? This would mean I’ll get to off work early each day.

To be honest, I’m ok to work from 8 till 6 but the long working hours are too long and leaving me exhausted at weekends. Don’t get me wrong. I would still prefer for the 5 days workload in 4 working days even though it is going to leave me weary for I want to care for AJ myself. I don’t want to detach myself too much from AJ.

And as a result of clinging too much with AJ, he’s clingy to me as well. Follow wherever I go. Want to be carried and eyes follow to whatever I do. T___T haha…speaking of which, AJ did some stir fry himself the other day after saw me cooking for a few times. Sabar sabar, photos at the end.

I do feel that I need some Marge personal time especially on Saturday or Sunday albeit for an hour only……for my beauty nap. Because I’ve used too much energy at work! ==”

Thanks hubby for being so understanding. He has to entertain AJ when I need the time myself. This at least gives some father and son time neh~~~What's more, he has to see my extremely strenuous pulling face once a week because I’m so drained. Poor hubby…haha…

Right…I got carried away again, didn’t I? Where was I?

Okok…yes now that it is confirmed, I aint gonna work till 6!!!! By taking just half an hour break, I can now off at 5:15pm. This would also mean I don’t get any free lift home anymore T____T

So I would be better off walking home that only just take 15 minutes – a slight exercise add-on to get back to sexy size. Great! I would be reaching home first, greeting hubby and AJ with a warm smile. Great great!

Then, we could have dinner early. Great great great! More time for me to rest. Great x 4 –lazy to type so many words but come to think of it, when I am writing this or typing to be precise, I’m actually doing the same thing =.= and still is typing. More time with AJ (great x 5) and more smiles at weekend (great x 6). *finger-crossed*

This is a perfect plan of so many greatnesssssssssssss. There’s no charge for greatness, it’s the enjoyment of greatness you’re looking for. So great-nya…Now you see that it’s affecting my personal life right?

***

Oh…nearly forgot to give update on AJ’s health. He’s still recovering. It’s better than last week. Expect a slow recovery due to windy cool weather and without medication. You could hear a lot of mucus when he coughes. He starts eating now but still on low amount. Diarrheoa thankfully has ended. I can see his new teeth. Sharp edges…better watch out when I wash his mouth with my finger.

Now that the winter is nearly over, it’s getting warmer now. I’m hoping that AJ will be feeling better soon. And bring him out to walk on warm sunny day.

Here comes the photos of little naughty baby (oppss…toddler)

Randy the Reindeer

One of my colleague brought it in this morning...and...I didn’t how it look like until my colleague gave it a little bit of carbon dioxide.

He did hell a good job while the person who sits there is not in yet(he’s late). So, we decided to reward him bonus and that’s the outcome we received. Well done, Randy! Oh, btw, Randy is named by Gary, my team leader. The name just comes out of nowhere. Haha…

Wahaha...fuh...I love my team. Everyone is so high-spirited when it comes to a festival, especially at Christmas. Ho...ho...ho...

I wonder if I can get one for AJ too~~~ muahaha...

Here comes the last of my working day of the week.

Internet-less till Monday T___T ~~~ Got AJ anyway, so who cares... =P

Have a nice weekend, everyone!

Jimmy and I?

Believe it or not, we’re each other’s first love. Well, not many believed that it’s Jimmy’s first. Reason being it contradicts too much to his characteristics.

We’re having steam boat at Rudolf’s house the other day together with Rudolf and his brothers and some new students whom just arrived from Malaysia few weeks ago. Then this conversation between us, the new friend, Clifford (I hope I got his name right because it’s still new to me) and me took place:
Clifford: Were both of you from the same hometown?
Me: Yes
Clifford: Childhood sweetheart since primary school?
Me: No
Clifford: So, how did you guys got together?
Me: Well…(paused)…Jimmy fell in love one of my best friend at first
Crowd: Oooooo………. (suspiciously)
Me: Then I snatched him from her (followed by evil grin)
Silence…
Clifford: Then, how’s your best friend?
Me: We remained as best friend
Crowd: Wahhhhhhh…….. (surprised)
Clifford: Did you invite her to your wedding reception?
Me: Yes
Clifford: wah…Then is she coming?
Me: Yes…why not?
Rudolf snapped in…
Rudolf: Then, I will be able to tell who she is on that day. She might turn red or uncomfy
Me: haha…we shall see
Clifford: wah…I didn’t know that you’re such a sinful person
Rudolf: So, Jimmy couldn’t run away now
Clifford: haha…yeah…now with AJ, how can he run away?
Me: Yeah…He’s mine forever

Will you believe it if you’re Clifford? haha…Clifford is such a lovely guy who'll ask questions when in doubt. Lots of questions in a day! You’ll normally get frustrated when someone asked you lotsa questions in a day but he’s such a funny innocent guy that you won’t get annoyed with him. He is right, you know. Ask questions when in doubt! Else you’ll ended up knowing nothing.

OMG, I lied too much that I think he actually believes it. Jimmy was quite shocked when I disclosed a fake story. Even Alice has labelled me as a lying mother “wolf” already – from the boy who cried for wolf children’s story. T____T

But I couldn’t bring myself to tell you guys the love story behind yet. Haha… it’s not the time yet and still very precious to me. Well, probably because it’s our first love. Hey, not many know gets together for so long and build a small family from their first love. Are you? But I can tell you the moments before that…Btw, it’s a true story…THE REAL ONE! *beg*

We barely knew each other in primary school. Actually, we’re in the same class in primary year 6 but I didn’t remember much. The only thing I could remember was I sat next with James, Jimmy’s best friend for the whole academy year. James was so hilarious that I couldn’t forget his stupid actions in the class.

But Jimmy remembered me carrying a thick dictionary to school everyday. I myself didn’t know why the heck I’m so stupid burdening myself bringing such a heavy dictionary to school? There wasn’t any reading dictionary session even. An act showing I’m a very hardworking student? That’s a really stupid act. Very geeky and stupid! You think so too, I bet. T_____T

We went to the same secondary school after but were arranged to different classes not until 4 years later. But that was just for a few months. The final year before secondary school, we chose the same subject (by accident) and only then, we started knew each other. Again for a short period of time due to the subject held twice a week and over the academic year only.

After secondary school, we furthered our studies to different colleges but remain contacted. Getting closer not long after. Then there it goes, the love story began and continue until today

~~~~ slowly carried away by the sweet memories ~~~~
Woot~~~ Exactly 3 months to our lovely holiday…..Whosh!
Long live WMS
Yippeee!!!
I’ve a new spec. Actually…I got 2 new specs! Yes! 2!!! I know I can get it cheaper when I go back home next year. But hear me out.
My company is so nice that they are willing to contribute a little towards getting a new spec since I’m working in front of the computer most of the time. You may not know this if your eyes are perfect but people like me needs to get eyes checked every two years.
The last time my eye test was 3 years ago at my hometown. At that time, I paid for £35 to get a new considerably trendy spec. This includes eye test and special coating for reflection. Cheap eh!?! I had my glasses tinted but it isn’t very popular in UK so they ended up thinking that I’m colour-blinded. =.=
It’s far too cheap in Malaysia but in UK, expect the worse. Everything is charged. The Specsaver, 60+ chained-opticians charged eye test for £17. Going to the frames, the normal and unpleasant glasses costs £25. It could cost you at least £125 for a designer’s specs! Without noticing, you could end up spending hundreds to get a comfy and wearable spec.
I myself prefer one that is trendy, comfy and flexible. I was planning to wait until my big holiday to get a new spec. But my eyesight is getting worse and having headache every morning lately. So, I decided to get a temporary cheap one soon not until this golden opportunity comes...
CONTRIBUTIONS FROM MY EMPLOYER, WMS! >>> I love you more and more each day...wahaha...
The contribution was not much but it helps a lot. With this, I get free eye test and £20 discount off any frames purchased from £99 range and above. Now, the most interesting part is Specsaver offers buy 1 get 1 free glass from £99 above. And oh...not to forget...free scratch resistant as well...Woot~~~~
Now I get a free full eye test and 2 new specs at just one spec price and at discounted price! Pretty amazing! You might be thinking, “2 glasses? What for?” I thought the same too...but if you get another one free, why not? One for work, one for party / casual.
So, how much I have saved so far? Without the offer & discounted price, I may need to pay £191 altogether but I’ve only paid £79, which is just about the price of 2 specs in Malaysia. Would you do the same thing if you were me??? Woot~~~~
Now I might just need to spend a few quids to change the glasses to tinted & special coating reflections when I’m back to my homwtown.
OK…enough the crap...let me show you guys the 2 new specs I just got few days ago. Tadah!!!
Jimmy like them as well! What do you think, guys?
Thank you so much, WMS...
***
Finally...
After 4 days surviving on just porridge, water and yogurts, finally I can CHEW. Munch! Munch! Munch! I felt a lot better today and still swelling a little bit. You see...that's why you don't get to see the photos of me wearing the new specs. Will pose with them when I'm fully recovered...
Over the last few days, I find it difficult to put the spoon into my mouth. The spoon’s too BIG for my mouth! =.= And it hurts if I open my mouth wider...
But tonight, it’s not that much pain anymore, I had egg mayonaise sandwich. Only ate two but I'd to squeeze them into my widest open mouth. One munch at a second T__T
Now that’s all the wisdom teeth are out, I am relieved. Very relieved. No more worries! *wink*
Thank God...
I'm rich
This post was meant to be posted on Friday. But I forgot...T___T waaa.......totally forgot. Had a busy weekend. Anyway, who cares?? Remember...turn your time back to Friday.
Woot! Payday...
Wahaha…I’m rich – in my own world la…Not that I’m getting lotto or toto...Don’t mind if it is. I’m thousandnaire….woot~~~
Yes! It’s payday today! I’ve been on statutory pay since March and the pay was basically just enough for my rent. So poor that AJ and I were very much depending on Jimmy. Blessed daddy. When I arrived to my desk this morning, there’s the small yellow envelope I’ve been waiting for… my eyes went zing ££ zing ££.
My pay for this month is …. Eh…why should I tell you? No way, no way. It’s absolutely confidential & personal. But I’m so happy that I got paid (in full), so I thought to share my happiness with you all. Haha…..Don’t get offended, ok?
I’m going to tell you what I’m going to do with my money. CNY flight ticket, my winter jacket, winter clothes for AJ, possibly the dress for my wedding? If there’s a sale – I bet not at this time. So saving up till the boxing day. Then, I need to pay the rent, tax, bills, groceries…bla bla…..helping our young family surviving through the month. Also hopefully will helping Jimmy in providing our small family. Apparently, no much left for savings by the end of next month =.=, as expected.
Very normal. When you have your first salary, you’ll spend all of it. Then start saving the next month or so. I know I’ve started working 2 – 3 years ago. But since I was in such a long break, I’m going to pamper myself & the family with this pay.
Updates: AJ
AJ cold is still there but has got a lot better this week. His appetite grew and smiles happily every time our eyes met. He has been really good this week at nursery. He cried a while when Jimmy dropped him off on Monday. Then, he ended up watching his daddy walk away the rest of the week. Within seconds he arrived there, he just reaches out to the carer.
He used to start crying the moment he saw his daddy at the evening – wailing “take me home” or “where’ve you been? I miss you”. But now… “Oh hi daddy, you’re here”…huh…he just selamba…..selamba…… He saw his daddy walked in, sat beside him and yet he continues playing with the toys. =.=. Has he forgotten that he has a home to go back to?
T_T My cheeky son doesn’t want to go back home now. He prefers his nursery than his own home….haih…I can’t blame him. He spent most of his daytime at the nursery so has got used with the environment there. Since he’s such a good boy – settled in so quickly and superb compliments from nursery assistants, I’m relieved. Rewarding him something big. BIG KISS!!! Wahaha…. *Blessed*
***
Updates: Diet
I had two heavy dinner last two nights. Tried refraining myself to crave into those delicious meat dishes but couldn’t stop to have a bite. Joline was right. The more you avoid them, the more you crave for them. =.=
Now I fully understand why it’s so easy to get fat easily but ages to get back to shape. I kinda regret eating too much at my pregnancy. But I was eating for 2. Ah..I know I know…I keep looking for excuses. There’s no need to think back now. Regretting won’t get me shape back too. So, what I’ll do now….is diet diet diet seriously.
The reason because I couldn’t stop myself was it was our first visit to newly opened buffet Chinese posh restaurant in the city centre. It was also Rudolf’s mom farewell dinner before she went back home – Malaysia.
Oh yeah… about this new restaurant. Its design was posh & gorgeous. Seriously. It was refurbished to fit its name – Water Dragon. I felt welcomed when I first arrived. 5 big wooden crafted chinese chair at reception. A couple of waterfall wall glass caught AJ’s attention, then a big wall painted with sea scenery and dragons.
Services were excellent. Moving to their food section. Yes, it’s eat-as-much-as-you-want service. They taste way better than Buffet City – another buffet restaurant in the city, honestly. Their food section includes Chinese, sushi section, lovely desert – cakes, mash mallows dip with choc & ice-creams and the interesting part is special dish of your choice freshly cooked. All just in one bundle price. No additional fee except the drinks la of course. Isnt’ it great?
Yeah...so basically, just get yourself fat in that restaurant eh? wahaha….the food was great. Fortunately, I didn’t have the desert else my diet plan is crushed. But I craved into the meaty dishes especially the prawns my favorite, a mussel (only one, I swear), 2 fried chicken, 2 prawn on toast, few scallops, noodles and lotsa veges. See…I’m watching my figure. Not bad eh? But I felt guilty not following my diet plan.
What I did 2 days ago was a serious felony (Oh no, I’m now a felon!), so I’m going to put myself on a naughty chair for 1 month. Even if I in a restaurant, I’ll just have vege to go with little rice. Promise! No more excuse. Vege Vege Vege!
***
OK la...I know I missed the photos of the week also. My loyal fans must be grunting. Sorry lo...I'll make sure I'll do it this weekend. Promise! And some very cute interesting photos...You'll laugh till you cried...smile from ear to ear....haha.....Till then...wahaha...
AJ's 奶爸
Hot! Hot! Hot! It really shiny today. If you’re here, you know what I mean. Just like summer. This also means I can save my money to get my clothes dry without using electric dryer. God, I love Mr Sun here. Especially when you’re living in a 4 season’s country.
Yesh... I’m working today and pretty occupied. One of my colleagues is off sick, so I need to cover her to make sure any important tasks are taken care of by the end of the day. My team leader, Gary, off to Birmingham for 2 days training and won’t be back until next Monday. I’ve been picking up the things I’ve left behind on Monday. Thank God, now I nearly finished almost all of it.
I felt a lot better now. Having been smelling nothing for this few days, I can now pick up a little bit scent. What else? The scent of strong detergent when I cleaned my kitchen stove yesterday night. Just barely la =.= Yet I'm so happy. My nose is going to fully functioning soon.
Shortly, I'll be able to respond to Jimmy when he asked where something's smelly. I been saying no to him lately. Then he'll be going like "Oh yeah...your nose is blocked. Surely, you can't sense those shitty things." =.= I've been smelling unpleasant odour all this while!?! But leh...wahaha...as my nose was blocked, I won't know AJ's nappy is dirty..so Jimmy has to do the checking routine sniff..sniff...grr....
***
Updates on how the daddy & son doing at home today
Wahaha…of course I called a number of times at work. That’s very normal. Well not that freaky by calling every hour la. I ringed just to make sure they both are doing ok. Deep down inside my heart, I know they will be just doing fine. AJ’s now has a daily routine in which Jimmy just has to follow it. Meal time, nap, nappy change, play & so on. See? Very easy, eh?
If a 26 year old father can’t cope with an 8 months baby, I’ll chop my head down!
After two days of fasting, it’s the time AJ to have his favorite food and milk. Finished his meals. Nicely done, dear. His poo looks alright, as according to Jimmy. But I’m still putting my finger crossed. He was bright since yesterday. Back to old himself. Keep it up, son!
Since it’s Thursday, I’ve asked Jimmy to have AJ weighed at the health centre. You can say, yes it is Jimmy’s first time too to bring AJ there. He might be feeling awkward. It’s usually mom with baby, dad and mom with baby or dad with toddler. Read carefully…toddlers. I’ve never seen dad with baby yet so far. Probably Jimmy’s the first. Haha…
Yes, weighing. AJ lost a bit of weight. His last weigh was almost 3 weeks ago recording 8.4 kg. Now…only 8.3 kg. T__T He lost quite a lot due to his diarrhoea. It’s ok, son. I’m sure you’ll catch up with it soon. Gambate, son! You can do it! *finger crossed*
“That’s just a piece of cake” Jimmy said. “We’re now best friends”…Jimmy found it a bit difficult to bond with AJ sometimes. Reason being AJ is too attached to me. ^_^ Blessed~~~
Here, I would like to take this golden opportunity to CONGRATULATE to my dear husband, Jimmy, who successfully completed his house-husband tasks today – taking very good care of AJ. I now declared you PASS. ^___^ So so so proud of you.
And oh...Thanks again for praying us all this while.
WELL DONE FATHER! WELL DONE SON!
Let’s hope for sunny weekend eh….so us 3 can do something interesting together. *evil grin*
The unwell us 3
Curse AJ’s bug. Curse the bug to hell! Why do you continuously making AJ upset? He hasn’t been able to take his daily nutrients since whole day yesterday. He’s hungry…extremely hungry…desperate for deliciously tasty food & milk. Why don’t you just die or be a good bug – attacking all the bad bugs? Go away..go away…damn you
AJ had the diarrhoea attack again. He was well on Monday, spent the day blissfully at the day care. He had his dinner at home around 6:30 pm and went straight to bed after. As we, the adults, were preparing to go to bed around 9-ish, he woke up vomiting all the food he took previously on the bed. All of them! Astonishingly, no crying I was expecting. He was so sleepy that he snoozed seconds after a quick change.
And another vomit after he had his milk in the early morning around 3. This time the whole milk he just had. Followed by diarrheoa. Gave him dioralyte next after change, he took just a few sips. Then snoozed. An hour later, he throw up for the 3rd time.
Seen doc in the morning. Doc advised AJ to avoid solid foods and milk for the next 48 hours. O_o. His poo was sent to hospital for laboratory testing. We’re still waiting for results. Hopefully, no harmful virus is found. It has been just a day since AJ touched no food nor milk. He’s really hungry. He’s only satifsfied with 2 sachets of Dioralyte (14 Oz) one go at each meal time.
I took 2 mutual preference days in advance to be with AJ while he’s recovering at home. Also grabbing this chance convalescing myself. This also means I had to work this and next Friday. T___T Doh…who cares? As long AJ is back to his healthy mode, anything worth it.
The bug got into Jimmy now. Pray pray he too will get better. He'll taking a day off tomorrow resting and taking care of AJ at the same time. This will be Jimmy’s first time spending 10 hours alone with AJ. *finger crossed* AJ will be having his first solid food also after 2 day of surviving just water & lots of Dioralytes. Do you think the father and son will be doing ok?
Im gonna write down AJ’s routine so that Jimmy knows what to do in responding to his many different cries in a day. Wish I have hidden cameras to watch at work. I might as well ring to check every hour or two. =.=
Recession started to kick in. With credit crunch, the fall of property prices, food prices hiking up, I’m starting to worry now. Very worried. Very very worried. I was reading Daily Mail online on Monday about the Lehman Brothers, US biggest banking giant, UK third largest mortgage lender has filed into bankruptcy, leaving nearly 5000 people jobless & perhaps unpaid this month. That day is now known as the Black Monday.
I’m working in the same industry also...ah...not with the same company la....Am I going to the same route also? But the company I’m working is reported quite stable wor. Ish…this is very scary.
There’re now talks to merge the major lenders in preventing another big madness. Why hasn’t the government doing anything to this? Can’t they do anything to save this since they have been taxing us so high and higher every year? Why do they only say everything is in plan and I couldn’t see anything happening yet? Why did you speech with poise weeks before your election and then only silence? Actions speak louder than words, people!
God saves us.
2 Sept 2008
First day at work
Arrived at my office today at 9:11 am and noticed that my things were moved to a different desk. Desk moving was necessary due to department restructuring. I knew that before actually, but I don't have any idea my new workspace. Before holiday, I was sitting on a right-cornered L shape desk and now have to make myself comfortable with the left-corner L shape desk. Well, that wasn't a big deal anyway, I can adjust myself easily...not until this happened.
#1/How do I work like this? =.=
Don't worry, it's just temporary basis only. Gary, my team leader, said it will be sorted in a day or two. I'm probably getting a new machine...wahaha...with 4Gb of SDRAM hopefully. *finger-crossed* As for the moment, I'm using my co-worker's machine who's having her maternity leave since last month.
As soon as I was able to reach my company mailbox, I have 876 unread emails. No joking! Can you believe it? 876! 876! Apparently (Val's tone), my mailbox is still alive and have been receiving emails since I left last December. This is gonna take me 2 weeks at least to filter them. Most of them are junks anyway. But I need to go thro' each of them so that no important email is binned. =='
Oh yea....I received my last year Christmas gift from the Magic company, a software provider, which most systems in my company were implemented using its software. Yesh....a cup and I can use permanently at the office now. But I would prefer a bigger one actually. Probably, I'll take it home with me later this week and get a large pint of glass. I drinks lots of water. and yes...I need a headset as well, listening to musics...I better write what I need to bring on a paper.
#2/ The Magic cup, eh!
Managed to settle in ok. Gary has assigned a few projects to me on my first day. Lots have changed since I left but I'm starting to pick things up slowly. I spent the whole day checking emails, start working on the projects, updates from Gary, got my childcare voucher & mutual preference sorted and having AJ running in my head all the time.
Childcare voucher is provided to the employee to pay the nursery fee. With this flexibility, a fixed amount is taken off from my monthly salary before tax at payday. Hence, I save quite a lot by paying lesser tax...wahaha...I love my company. And the best thing... as of 15th Sept 2008, I am working on compressed hours (mutual preference policy). 4 long working days, Mon to Thurs 8AM - 6PM and Friday off. every week. again....another reason why I loved my company.
Updates on how AJ's been doing in his nursery today...
It is AJ's first full day at nursery. AJ was crying when we send him to nursery today. I stayed there for about an hour. He calmed a little bit when he had his dummy before I left. Today, he's the only baby in the room. So, he gets one-on-one attention which is quite good to allow him settle down without being shocked with so many babies in the room.
Surprisingly, no calls from the nursery. Instead, I ringed to check that AJ's doing ok. Jimmy visited him at his lunch break. wahaha....AJ was actually really sleepy and ready to go to bed . But as soon as he heard his daddy's voice, he went back energetic and asking for a cuddle. *Blessed AJ*
#3/AJ enjoyed having his meal
I was tempted for several times to ring the nursery but managed to hold back for fearing that I might wake AJ up. As the phone is in the same room where he sleeps. My mind was thinking of AJ all the time at the office. Worried that he got really upset not having me around. Since I'm using 10 kit days, I off-ed early and headed to the nursery around 4:45PM. He was just started crying as I was about to ask the nursery assistant to allow me in. Not because he saw me. It was probably due to the door behind him suddenly opens and the sounds scared him.
He was back to his happy mood within seconds. He was shouting happily and played with the toys while waiting for his daddy to get us home. I will still going to nursery with AJ this few days until he's settled 100% and off work early to pick him up. Just to ensure him that we're not leaving him behind too long.
Wahaha.....I'm really happy. Happy that AJ started to settle now. AJ, mommy is so proud of you. Love you...love you...love you lots..muacks! muacks! muacks! But I miss him a lot. Love his company for the past 7 1/2 months. As soon as my mutual preference started, I will get more time to be with AJ. Looking forward to that...^___^
Fuh...what a day! I'm so tired after a hectic day...bed time...that's all folks.
1 Sept 2008
The end of my leave. Beginning of a new chapter...
This is it...
The day I will resume to work with my company after 9.5 months long holiday.
The day I will be separated with AJ for 8 hours every working days.
***
Looking back...
I was heavily pregnant with my unborn child till my last working day with my company. I have already missed my working life since the start of my maternity leave. Probably it was because of the wait...waiting to give birth. A mixture of feelings...it was bored mixed with anxious. Bored having nothing to do. I regretted to have my leave that early. I knew it...I should have waited till that day.
At the same time, I was anxious. How was the labour going to be like? Can I cope with the new chapter of my life? Is my baby going to be ok? How's he (we knew it's a he before the birth) going to be look like? more to Jimmy’s or mine? Work can past my time easily and I won’t feel too nervous at the same time. But then, resting at home early not a bad idea also. Luckily, Jimmy took 3 weeks off and at least I won’t feel bored at home.
Ok….in short, as you all already know, 13th Jan was a big day for all of us.
The day a new chapter is added to my life book.
The day I am officially a mother.
The day I experienced the only-mum-who-had-natural-labour pain.
This is the day I met AJ for the first time.
Yes, this is the day I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
As of 11:57PM, 13th Jan 2008, I’m responsible for AJ’s well-being - bath, nappies, food, nails, fashions, cries, everything…basically everything…you name it! When Jimmy starts working with a new company, it’s just AJ and me all day, 24-7. Well, till Alice came here for about 3 months.
Now…
I couldn’t believe it! It’s coming nearer. And now? I am working starting tomorrow. AJ is going to nursery at the same time. Jimmy will be sending him off around 8AM then picked him up at 5.30PM. I got so used having AJ around. And now I only get to see him after work weekdays and then 24 hours weekends. OMG! I’m gonna MISS my little cute baby.
Will he be happy at nursery?
Will he get used not having me around?
Will he be bullied by other babies at nursery?
Will he be abandoned by the staff when he cried out loud?
OMG! I’m thinking too much. I have to be optimistic! Positive thinking! OK..OK..think no more. No more! No more!
