Heartbreaking Thursday

It was like every other normal Thursday for the three of us. We left our residence 10 mins before 8. As usual, Jimmy dropped me off near my office and sent AJ to his nursery and then to his work.

Yet, this is not a normal Thursday. It’s my first day of the week going back to work. I had been staying at home caring AJ since Monday. He is very poorly since the weekend. Teething, fever, cough, cold, sore throat, diarrhoea, excessive eye discharge, vomit, no appetite. I am very saddened seeing him so upset. He would just want to have you holding him, doesn’t have the mood to play with his toys, and just laying his back on mine watching TV until he’s sleepy.

By Tuesday, he got better and was able to get back to his playful mood for a few hours in the evening. His appetite has improved on Wednesday. I decided to go back to work yesterday and send AJ back to meet his friends and carers in nursery.

It is indeed not a normal Thursday. As usual, Jimmy and AJ reach home approx 5:30 pm. Got into the house fine. The moment he entered the key to our flat’s door lock, he couldn’t turn the key to open the door. Weird…very weird. Tired for a few times. He thought at first it was the problem with the lock. Called me to ask if I have the back door key. I said yes but there is another back door key in the lock inside the door. Won’t be able to open from outside if there’s a key on the other side.

We then called Julia, our landlady representative, to arrange someone to change the lock. She also felt unusually bizarre. Jimmy picked me up so that he could get the back door key to get into the flat. Both AJ and I waited at the hallway in front. Jimmy went to back door. He gasped when he saw the back door was wide open. Walked past the store room, toilet, kitchen, bedroom...all very normal. Except...except...reach our big lounge, our lovely fabulous TV gone! TV~~~ TV~~~

OMG, it’s the TV~~~ It’s our very first 32” LCD HDTV bought about 3 months ago. We’re totally gobsmacked. We further checked our flat. We noticed that our bed sheet went missing as well. Went to kitchen, the small petite kitchen window is wide open. It’s so wide that an extremely thin person (a skinny kid) could climb in. That’s how the thief got in.

The flat front door was locked from inside. No wonder~~~ It must be the thief who locked the door so that they’ll know when someone’s trying to get in and then they have enough time to run away.

Next, Police! Police! Police! They came in investigate the case and then took some shoeprints. They couldn’t get any fingerprints as the thieves were wearing gloves. Julia came with Kevin to change the locks to our doors. Ritchie and Royston stopped by for a few hours before went back home in Rudolf’s car. It was about midnight when Jimmy and I were only able to get to bed.

Damn you, thief! Whoever you are! Stealing our first TV. I’ll remember you for life! I hope you won’t hurt the other innocent people. You will definitely get caught by police one day and get punishment for what you have done for.

Thinking back, I’m very grateful. Reason being, the thief might still was in the flat when Jimmy and AJ reach home. Else, they won’t just be taking the TV. We have PS2 just underneath the TV stand and a computer with 2 monitors in the lounge. And they’re still there in the same exact place. Jimmy and AJ must have just reach home in the nick of time.

What if? What if Jimmy met the thief (or thieves) face-to-face? Jimmy might get banged. They may hurt AJ! No, I can’t let them hurt my two most important men in my life. I would rather them taking the TV away and left them unhurt.

Despite all that, I’m still thankful that we’re all safe and sound...

Thank God.

But…my TV T____T

How I spend my Friday with my golden piglet?

Yesh…Friday was not raining as most plymouthians have been expecting, considering raining days mostly since summer ends. Jimmy was assigned to attend a site visit to Tamworth, about 2 hours driving from Plymouth with his colleague, so I had to car from him.

Honestly, it has been ages since I was driving. You can say weeks, probably months. Jimmy did the driving all the time because I had to care AJ at the back. I was pretty worried – will my driving skills ok? Can I still drive?

Now, the car is mine for the whole day, we decided to pay Mary a visit. I know…I know…I can just walk up there what. But I am planning to do weekly grocery shopping which we normally have it on Friday night. Reason being we need more time to rest and prevent AJ to get uncomfortable having going out in the cold night.

Our journey began around 12:35pm (after AJ’s lunch). We planned to shop at Sainsbury’s at Marsh Mills, which would normally take about 20 minutes driving with not much hassles in traffic. We reach approx 40 minutes later. Not traffic. I got lost on the way. Twice.

I thought I chose the wrong route on a roundabout. Then I only realised that I was correct when I returned to the roundabout again. On the same roundabout, I turned into the wrong route (the real mistake). =.= silly me. You know what, it wasn't the first time I got lost at the very same roundabout.

Blessed AJ. He sat in his car seat quietly even his beloved wife (soother) was not with him. Watching intently outside and look at me when I turned to the back to check him. AJ was even behaving really well in the shopping trolley until checkout. Didn’t ask for a cuddle like he used to be. Bravo, AJ! Nearly an hour shopping! Phew~~~

We headed to Mary’s house afterwards. He made a few noises each time after he yawned...oooouuuuuuu...aaahhhhhhhhhh...then he snoozed off. Blessed~~~ As usual, I spent my time at Mary’s eating, yapping and playing with AJ. Picked up Jimmy’s at his office when I received his call, again AJ snoozed after few times of yawning. Aww......blessed~~~

It was such a lovely moment spending time with my little golden piglet. Surprisingly, it’s our first time mother-and-son grocery shopping. Lovely! Unforgettable! Sweet! I have no regrets working 4 long days a week. So worth it! My golden piglet~~~~

I can now concluded that my driving is still not too bad (ignoring the mistakes). Haha…

Our latest family photo

Remember this post?

So, it's Friday today, Friday! Friday! I love Friday! Guess what am I going to do today? It's photo session in AJ's nursery. So I'm gonna exercise, walk up to Mannamead from Wake Street with AJ for photographing, then stop at Mary's house until Jimmy's off work. The photo shoots consists of individual and family takings. It's been quite a while since we last had our family photo. So, this is a good chance for us. AJ is looking handsome later. *Bless*
Here's the original post if you want to read more - Hoorah!. Sorry for taking so long to give an update on this.

As said earlier, we took a few nice professional photos. They are so expensive to develop so we only managed to get one. We love all of them. Had a difficult time choosing the best. And you know…after several hours (not hours la…probably less than an hour) of discussion and getting opinion from our friends, we decided this is the best. Here comes the photos. Managed to scan the sample of the others…so ignore the qualities.

The samples we didn't develop in the end. Jeez...I love all of them

And here comes the photos we've chosen to develop - our newest family photo.

Jimmy said I look like a Japanese woman - with the look of the eyes *blush*

What do you think? Did we take the right decision?

We took the cheapest package (yet still very expensive) £15 for 3 copies of the same photos - 1 medium size and 2 small size (perfect to put at both of our work area) Sweet~~~~

I know...i know...AJ's individual photos look great as well. But don't worry. I have another voucher for free professional phototaking session (big size), reserved just for him. Wait till I booked a suitable time. Love the free stuff forever!
