yuhooo

yo yo yo....have been really occupied for the past few days. If you came from my sis's post "All about him", yes, those were our daily endless tasks, which includes of entertaining our big boss, AJ. So instead of talking repeatingly about AJ today, I'm going to write about food we had on Xmas eve. It's sooo delicious that we'll definitely go there again.

Trust me. You couldn't resist them yourself. Even with your 200% full stomach. and you'll definitely get your hands dirty on first glance. It was already 10 ish when we brought my family to 101 for a light supper. We thought to have just light LIGHT SUPER LIGHT as I'm watching my diet and surprisingly, my dad ordered a lot back after just a few minutes visits at the stalls. I don't really know the real name though so I'm naming them myself. Ladies & gentlemen, boys & girls...

the siput bakar (aka grilled snails)

fork out the meat using a sharp end stick

mix with your saliva then chew before swallow. yum yum...

fed by our big boss, AJ

super duper fresh grilled fish

not forgetting also, AJ have his milk showing off his new shoes by his cute Gma

AJ spent the rest of the evening running non-stop with the kids footcan-ing at an wide open space. He was forced to be taken back into the car, sweating heavily. I have to admit, he's an energetic kid. Pretty sure it's from the milk. ==" Ciao...Marge

Meet the King of Fruits

It has been a while (loooooonnngggg time) since we last went to pasar malam (aka the night food festival). I guess it was about 7-8 years ago. We visited pasar malam yesterday at SS2 and the place was soooo crowded. They sell almost anything, food, jewelleries, bags, cakes and so forth at a bargained prices.

Of course, the guys didn't waste any time in getting their hands dirty on the king of fruits, Durian.

According to them, they bought the D24 durian aka the bestest Durian - from Pahang. Unlucky me didn't really enjoy the Durian or else I will be enjoying them myself too....wahaha.....not sure why but I would vomit whenever I taste it. Now the whole car, room and everyone's mouth except AJ and me are full of Durian smell. The smell gonna lasts for days I bet. Even chewing gum won't help. =.=

On a completeeely unrelated note, ever wonder how my beloved sis-in-law, Alice and Mr Wong sleep? Here's the answer of your puzzle.

Last Tuesday in Plymouth

Hello again....I hope you guys are not bored with my every day "Last" posts since Thursday last week talking about what have I been doing that day. Are you? Don't worry if it is for it will be stop by tomorrow. I was wondering how much can I blog if I do it everyday. I'll tell you the summary on the last "last" entry, which is due on tomorrow. At the mo, feel free to leave your comments on the 7 continous last "Last" entries, even if it is not good.

Well, as mentioned from previous entry, I went to my company with AJ. AJ was very naughty and he kept lying down on the carpet for no reason at all. Prolly he likes green eh? He was shy at first meeting my colleagues but within the next few minutes he was running around like it is his playground! Imagine that there's a person less than 1 metre tall running around shouting, sneaking under the table, climbing up the chair and stealing whatever he can steal. =.= I had to run around catching him. Gosh...

3 of us were due to meet Ritchie near to his flat and we're passing by Rudy's car and I was surprised to hear Rudy's car engine was on! I thought, OMG is that a thief trying to steal Rudy's car. I quickly nudged hubby to be prepared just in case. Rest assured it was just Ritchie warming up the car to prevent it getting rusty. He was waving from inside. Phew....

We had lunch again at Weatherspoon, not the same one we had few days ago. This time it's in Barbican. I had the beef burger Gourmet...wah...it was so delicious. Even better than BK, McD or KFC. I love the cheese. Love it! Love it! I believe this should be available at most Weatherspoon and I believe you should give it a try if you happened to come across.

I know it's the annual Britain firework championship tonight and tomorrow and it has just started right at this moment. I had to missed it. What else? Packing. Why this packing never ends? T.T I had to weigh the luggage to check how much it was overweight then unzip the luggage taking the heaving stuff / clothes out and redo the same thing again. T.T It's too heavy and I don't understand where is the weight coming from. I hate packing coz I need to make sure it's not too heavy to prevent extra charges and also complaints from hubby. Hubby would go bleh bleh bleh..neh neh neh...da da da...unstop like my nana.

Anyway, I managed to get it balance now by taking most of my clothes & shoes out. I need to get new clothes & shoes once I reach KL or wear Alice's temporarily. Hopefully I can fit in her clothes well without breaking them. Plus, my clothes are quite old already so it's probably a good time for me to get new ones in. It's on hubby anyway..muahaha *evil grin*

Oh yeah, we saw some lovely cakes from a new cake shop in the town today. Mr Buns. It sounds like a Chinese bun shop but it's not. I saw lots of people coming in and out so I thought I might as well give it a try. The cakes looks soo lovely.
One word. Ptuik! AJ didn't enjoy it as well. He totally rejects it after the first bite. Same goes to Hubby. In the bin they go. It's toooooo sugary...like having zillions sweets at the same time.

Here're some of the photos taken today & yesterday....
AJ found this way very comfy

Sushi...love it! enjoy it!

Normally I would bring lunch to work. Either bread with chocolate or strawberry spread or marble cake. Sometimes, when there’s leftover enough to cover three of us meal for the next day, I’ll bring some to work. Sometimes, we went out to BK (Burger King) for lunch but because Jimmy then changed to a new company since last year that is just outside of the city centre and now since he resigned, he stayed at home taking care of AJ. However, it seems to be a rainy July rather than sunny July experienced from previous years, so we don’t really hang out outside much now. So I would sometimes to the nearby sandwich store. But now I can’t be bothered to have any bread for lunch anymore. Fed up!

Yeah, I’m not as lucky as the easterners that can just go out to the nearby stall with colleagues and have a nice eastern meal ie Nasi Lemak satu moi! Or chicken fried rice! With Teh Peng! OMG, by just mentioning these have already made me drooling. T.T Yum yum….

I don’t know why but probably it’s because I grew up eating rice and missed having oriental meals if I missed on a meal. So, I had mostly enough with bread at lunch at work. I don’t hate it 100% but I don’t really enjoy it anymore like I used to be. It has been like this since I was studying - like for the past 6 years. OMG!

As I only have a few more days left working before we’re moving home for good, I have decided to have sushi on every working lunch day. Don’t care anymore la. I can’t keep torturing myself like this else I’ll die with this deep intense yearning for a decent oriental meals for lunch.

Sushi! Yes! Sushi! Either from M&S, Tesco or Sainsbury but I prefer M&S. It’s fresher and nearest to my office. My colleague had the sushi everyday since I don't know when and since he started to sit with me so I guess that triggers me. The seaweed is not fresh though but I don’t mind really for another few days. At least it’s better than having bread. They come from different sizes but a medium is enough for me with a selection of prawn Futomaki, Soya Edamame Maki, King Prawn Nigiri, Red Pepper Maki, Smoked Salmon Nigiri and Cucumber Maki dip with Soy Sauce. If I feel hungry again, I have fruits or something light. Easy eh…

Haih, why I didn’t think of this earlier? Could fit well with my diet. My colleague has lost a lot of weight as a result of having sushi for lunch and he ain’t get bored with it. Not yet! As if he already sat next with me since he joined the company? But blame myself for not thinking of this at the first place. Good for diet not for £££ wise. Haha…

Only for the next few days, 3 working days so I’m not really concerned about spending the money anymore just for a nice lunch. Oopps, I'm late for work! See you guys later.

p.s. 14 days to go.

Yoplait Petits Filous

Needless to say, calcium is one of the essentials minerals for growing up babies and children. Every babies and young children (no exception) loves yogurt. I don’t know why but it’s very addicting. I love it myself as well too but as mentioned from previous post, I love muller yogurt more more. Oh my, these food manufacturers are doing brilliant jobs, aren’t they? – the taste are just so delicious and loveable.

Yoplait Petits Filous (aka Little Rascals in French) is one of AJ’s favourite yogurt. I can tell you that his appetite would go up the moment he sees yogurt. He wouldn’t take his hands off from it until he sees the empty pot. Cheeky eh. I only allow two yogurts per day though ok maybe extra one if he finished his meal beforehand. No harm but I am limiting so that I can give him other food at the same time.

True enough, babies as young as 4 months can be introduced to this high-calcium-best-for-bones yogurts. However, I personally don’t recommend this until 6 months or later. There’s no hurry to wean your young one for milk is always the best meals for babies. Plus, the organs may not be ready to digest the yogurt. So, do continue to nurse your baby with breast milk exclusively as much as you can, otherwise formula milk.

I have only started introducing AJ the yogurt at about 1 year old. He first took it well in the nursery so I continue with the same routine he has at nursery days at home. Now it’s his favourite and a must have every day! His favourites are strawberry or raspberry.

There’re a lot of yogurts out in the store but I didn’t know this bestest one until recommendation from my friend. Thanks, Joline! There’re lots more children’s yogurt out in the store for different ages and you should give it a go! I guarantee your babies will love them too.

Now I'm a bit worry if I could find a similar one when we move back to Malaysia. *thumb-rolling*

Heinz baked beans with pork sausages

It’s very normal when moms get frustrated in preparing meals that looks tasty for kids and full of nutritions. I’m no exception. Because AJ is still learning the proper way to chew the food properly, I always make sure that the food he consumes is easy to digest, soft but not too soft to allow him to taste the different textures of the food in his mouth before swallowing them. Therefore, I always allow more water so that the boiled rice is soft & easy to chew while keeping the texture. Same goes to vegetables, cut them into small chunks to mix with the rice. It’s quite annoying when it comes to meat for its stiff texture and takes a longer time of chewing for easy digestion.

When AJ starts weaning, he skipped the porridge part. He hates the porridge so much that he would rather not eating it. So he jumped straight from milk to cereal then to rice. Strange, he hates the meat too. He would start complaining because of the hard surfaces and refusing to swallow it. True enough I am worried because he’s not getting the required nutrition from the meat substance.

Then one day a friend of mine, mom of two, introduced a high substance of proteins soft enough to be baby’s daily weaning meals. Baked beans with pork sausages by Heinz food company. And AJ fell in love straight away! Rich in tomato sauce, obviously good source of protein – just as the one I’m looking for.

I tried not to use it every day for you know children have demands over food. Children around the same age as AJ love to explore more and if he starts complaining over having the same taste every day, that’s not strange. Fortunately, AJ took it well and thanks to my friend he now is accepting meaty meals.

Meat mince is a another good choice and I choose turkey mince over the other meat mince. Turkey mince is softer yet tastier compared to pork or beef mince. Sometimes, chicken or pork cooked with added sugar for softer texture and cut into smaller chunks. Not too forget, fish!

Moms, you definitely should give it a try. I wonder if I can get this when I moved back. *finger-crossed*

Muller corner - vanilla choco balls...yum!

One of the things that I'll missed the most if I am to live in a place without it will be...
The muller corner with vanilla choco balls flavor - my favorite

There're a lot flavors in the market, blueberry, choco flakes, strawberry cakes, muller rice (which I don't like), low-fat muller, etc. It's so delicious that you'll get addicted without you knowing it at all. The packaging is also unique to ensure that you'll taste the crunchiness of the choco balls straight away in your tounge when they're mixed with the yogurt. Imagine that yogurt plus the choco balls, sweet + sour + chocolatey + creamy + crunchy + yum yum. Mmmmmm~~~~
The yogurt and choco balls separated. Waiting to be mixed
one thing I just realised this trick recently (learnt from my colleague). The packaging is designed for you to fold the choco balls side to fill into the yogurt. Quick, easy and neat. That's a good trick
Mix...Mix...Mix...
into my mouth...
yum yum....tee hee...

Not to forget, fatty too. So, eat with care.

made by Marge

I bought 6 duck eggs from a farmer market approx 2 weeks ago and decided to make some salted duck eggs. Oh..don't get me wrong, salted duck eggs are available at chinese groceries store by the selling price is just not worth it. It's like paying for gold eggs!!! We have them...erm...maybe once in 2-3 years since our stay in UK. As soon as I knew how to make salted duck eggs =.= which was about 2 years ago =.=. I never in my life think that it's such an easy job. All you need is lots lots lots I mean really lots of salt then disolved in water enough to cover the eggs in the salted water for like 2 weeks or more. That's it! Silly me only to realise it about 2 years ago. I blame myself for not thinking this logically.

Soooo, 2 weeks later, I took one out, have it cooked and tried it.

Not bad. not bad....Apparently, the salted duck eggs is not salted enough so I have addded lots more salt hoping to get better results in another week time.

How we spend our weekend

Right, I know it has been a while since my last post. It’s not that I didn’t want to write but I don’t have any interesting topics to “brag” about. When you read this post, this means otherwise lo..haha...

So, let’s get on, shall we?

We went to Exeter this morning. It was Rudolf’s idea, he was looking for a golf club as the JJB sports store in Exeter has a golf club testing facility. And since he was looking for someone to go with him, since hubby is also interested to get a full set of golf clubs himself, since we don’t have any interesting plan to do other than stuck at home goyang kaki (doing nothing).

JJB wasn’t open when we reach there, so we went to the store next to it – TKMaxx. And I saw this lovely blue and white beautiful evening dress (£49.99). The moment, I laid my eye on it, I was saying to myself “Wah...this is definitely a dress I would go for for my wedding” haha...I didn’t mean for a second wedding. Certainly not. I did bought a dress at the same price so I’m satisfied. I’m just trying to point out that I would definitely buy this dress as my second wedding dress. Haha...

Anyway...JJB next...While the guys are window shopping, I then...hehehe \grin
hmm...which one should I go for?

let me down...I wanna choosing my golf club
haha...I love this pic. he's so cute
While Rudy's busy choosing his driver
AJ and daddy are choosing the right junior golf club
Testing testing...
put some power in, then swing....
not to forget...a picture ...nice~~~

We didn't buy any in the end. The boys said it would be more cheaper to buy online. So, we went back to Plymouth afterwards. It was just a 3 hours trip and was around lunch time when we reach Plymouth, we went to Kaoshi - a new Japanese restaurant in the city.
==" can't believe it when the drinks arrived. small but £££ T_T
Rudy's chicken ramen soup
My special ramen soup - very fresh prawn
the rest of the gang had bento
and Kok Fung - apologies for the quality

The food were nice but the price are quite dear. Definitely a no no next time. I don't really know how can they survive in this kind of economy. But maybe they're full in the evening, we never know, do we?

That's what we did today. No photos for yesterday but a video for you all to enjoy - AJ's favorite games he really loved. There're 4 parts taken on Friday evening, yesterday morning, afternoon and evening. Enjoy!

Crazy craze

While I have no memory of where Jimmy was at that time...and AJ had his eyes glued to Bee Movie, I have decided that it's time. It's time...everyone...mum and son gets crazy. Ok...it's the mum going crazy. Here I come....

I know what you're going to say next, "What's wrong with this mum, eh?". I realised that it's a good time to take photos of me and AJ together as I am the camera-woman most of the time.

On an unrelated note, we had pak ting yuk bak kut teh noodles on the other Sunday. It was supposed to have rice but I have bought noodles and is about to go bad soon. So why not have a try. I fried the noddles a bit to make it crispy a little bit. Humnn...It was OK not really very nice compared to rice. There's definitely no second time.

Speaking of which, I had (still has) a terrible headache and sorethroat since Sunday. I had paracetamols throughout the day. The pain came back everytime the dosage gone. 4 tablets on Sunday and 3 today yesterday. =.= It's indeed terrible. and yesterday evening I was walking like a, I know...you're gonna laugh....,like a grandma...see?...because my legs were so weak and couldn't stand up straight. Oh, poor me. I felt so cold so suddenly every now and then even after 1 hour hiding under my duvet. So, I took paracetamol again, two sweaters and socks to warm myself up to get a good night sleep.

The pain came comes back yesterday this morning again leaving me no choice to take sick leave. T___T So eventually I had to stay at home recuperating. Still have the sorethroat with me but at least it's now better than before. Please let me get better soon~~~~

Edited in red color. Sorry, ladies & gents...
