Beware! Swine Influenza Pandemic

Swine flu, be it from a pig or a human, as you may or may not aware that swine flu, like many other deadly-currently-incurable diseases for example SARS or JE, is spreading faster than we thought. Gosh, I finished it in one sentence.

I’m starting to get worried indeed and am very alerted with the outbreak everyday by plugging my ear into radio at work to get myself updated all the time, paying no attention to my colleagues conversations unless they are talking directly to me and of course doing my work at the same time :P - especially on any news related to this new virus. And again, one sentence, one full stop. =.=

There are already a few infected people who have been advised to stay at home for at least week, in other words QUARANTINE. A couple have been tested positive for Swine flu in Scotland. Another 12 year old girl has been confirmed with the same illness as well. :-( My heart goes to them. This reminds me of SARS. And with the statement from the health official that 40% of Britons could be infected if this pandemic continues till winter, is showing how serious the pandemic is and is at nerve-racking state.

The authorities also stated that no jab is currently available and effectively can cure this flu-like symptom. At least 6 months researches would be needed to get a first batch done which means thousands have been infected and died waiting for the jab. Oh! How “marvellous” is that? I am not blaming anyone here and there’s absolutely no one to be held responsible but I am really hoping this pandemic will be over soon – vanished from tomorrow or from the next minute! Next second! I demand you to be gone forever! Wish I have that mighty power!

Anyway, watch out everyone, especially the young ones, as swine flu is blind and still is spreading across the globe. Even cute ma called to ask if I have any clue about this today. Try not to go out unless it’s necessary. As you don’t know who you are meeting outside inhaling all those recycled air which others have breathed before. Also, hygiene is important.

CAUTIOUS: Some useful tips to know if you got it (advice given from Health Protection Agency to NHS doctors and nurses)
A person should be tested for swine flu if they fulfil any ONE of these three conditions:
  1. Have you got a fever with a temperature of over 39c (100f)?

  2. Have you got a flu-like illness with two or more of the following: Cough, runny nose, limb or joint pain, headache?

  3. Are there signs of another life-threatening illness suggesting of an infectious process?

  4. AND the following condition:
  5. Did the symptoms start within seven days of visiting Mexico or the U.S. states of California, Kansas, New York, Ohio or Texas?

If you do catch any of the symptoms above, what are you waiting for? Don’t hesitate! Just go! Go! Go to the hospital for a check-up straight away! You’ve got nothing to lose! Better be safe than sorry!

We are planning to go to Paris on this coming summer. Should we go with this epidemic spreading around so madly? Maybe not. But I wanna go to Paris…haih~~~~~ T___T

Take care.

My Ultimate Decision

Decided. The decision has been made. I have been thinking this for months. It’s not that I don’t want too. It’s just I love them and it would be such a waste to throw away my babies after months caring them. But I guess I have to go by nature anyway.

I am really jealous of those who took extremely good care and they look so nice~ on them. I don’t know but I bet at least 2 hours is spent to make it seen-able, envied by people (me as an example) and praised for the greatness. They are willing to spend so much time even though it’s just for a few hours outing, well unless they keep it for tomorrow or the day after. *couldn’t be bothered to go into details*

Yes, I agree that they play a part of your appearance. The people judge you by their cleanliness and neatness by just looking at it. Even from behind! Look at her! Suet Lee looks so good with that. I love Alice’s too as well. Wah…I was so jealous when I look at Joline’s. I wish I had some of hers in mine. Even guys can do it well!

Haha… I have just realised that I like to add some juicy bits intro before I actually gone into the main topic. Maybe I enjoyed to add a bit flowery with some adds-on, spooky with increasing curiosity yet fun, so that you guys will keep on guessing what I am talking about (just like my ex-classmates whom tried to figure out why I brought a big heavy dictionary to school everyday). =.= Haiyah, so that you guys won’t be feeling so bored reading my post.

Right, I got carried away again…

Have you got any clue what I’m talking about yet? Don’t tell me you’ve got it from the beginning. Aww….I’ve been spending ages thinking the best way to describe it without mentioning the word directly. It took aweful lots of time to put them down in words, you know. Well…not that aweful anyway but the brainstorming really is pulling my hair out.

Yes, I’ve just spit it out. Yes, yesh…*finally admiting it* it’s about my hair. I have decided to have my hair short. To start with, I don’t have much hair, or to be exact, my hair is tiny size type and low volume (Now I know where AJ has his hair inherited from – from me! Which I inherited from my dad! Then from my granpa?). I’m starting to worry that I may gone bold within the next few years. May need to super super curly my hair like my grandma’s *sob sob in the corner* T___T

Having it short, I believe will make my hair looks fuller. And lighter sure. Haha. Hubby has been complaining about my messy hair for a while already. Whenever he drops me off at work, he would said “remember to check yourself out in the washroom when you’ve arrived”. Not all the time, k. ==”

I didn’t really enjoy tying my hair up because if I have often find myself spending 1 HOUR at least just to tie it up nicely everytime. That was at my secondary school. Imagine that I had to wake up 5 am in the morning just to tie my hair. Though it’s just a simple bind, I couldn’t leave my hair tied up with some edges left behind. It was this phobia. Even if I tried, I would end up in class doing my hair again. Because my hair is so little, so when they’re tied up and if it’s not properly covered up, my head skin will be exposed leaving me look even more ugly.

With years of suffering, I had the last 2 years of schooling in short hair. It was not long till I have them long back because I miss them. =.= I spent most of the time leaving my hair untied. Freedom mah. I couldn’t be bothered to style it most of the time because I’m lazy what haha….

I know you guys may find it’s an excuse for a lazy person. But if you’re at my place, you won’t say that. “Yeah, yeah. They say the same thing” But I would prefer spend the extra time caring of AJ. Since I have AJ, 24 hours a day is not enough for me. AJ demands for every attention especially now that he can walk, I need to be with him every single seconds in case he bump into something. =.=

Plus, I have nothing to lose anyway. If it’s not looking good, it will grows back sooner or later…shyt…but suffering months of hating the look with the short hair is kind of depressing. Maybe hair extensions. Eeee…talking about hair extension, I was watching a CSI episode (my favourite TV series) and they’re saying there’re bugs living on the hair extensions gotten from a dead body. Yuck. Imagine you have hair extension (from a dead body) in your head and having those bugs crawling in it…so disgusting. I would rather use head scarf to cover my ugly hair (if it is) than using hair extensions.

I’m gonna miss my very own long hair. Luckily, I had my wedding done already so I don’t have to worry much of what to do with short hair. There’re so many things you can do with the long hair - especially on special occasions. Having it short might not be that bad afterall. Plus, if I need it long again (on a sudden day), I could get a fake one from the markets anyway. Not hair extension! The thought of wearing fake hair is highly unlikely anyway haha….we shall see how it goes.

Right, I am heading to saloon while Jimmy cares for AJ this weekend. Gonna ask hubby to pay for the bills (as he has said so 2 months ago). If I still have the courage to do so... woot!

I need to find out what kind of a short hair style to go for. Googling tonight. Any suggestions anyone?

Sien, I need to change my writing style.

How we spend our weekend

Right, I know it has been a while since my last post. It’s not that I didn’t want to write but I don’t have any interesting topics to “brag” about. When you read this post, this means otherwise lo..haha...

So, let’s get on, shall we?

We went to Exeter this morning. It was Rudolf’s idea, he was looking for a golf club as the JJB sports store in Exeter has a golf club testing facility. And since he was looking for someone to go with him, since hubby is also interested to get a full set of golf clubs himself, since we don’t have any interesting plan to do other than stuck at home goyang kaki (doing nothing).

JJB wasn’t open when we reach there, so we went to the store next to it – TKMaxx. And I saw this lovely blue and white beautiful evening dress (£49.99). The moment, I laid my eye on it, I was saying to myself “Wah...this is definitely a dress I would go for for my wedding” haha...I didn’t mean for a second wedding. Certainly not. I did bought a dress at the same price so I’m satisfied. I’m just trying to point out that I would definitely buy this dress as my second wedding dress. Haha...

Anyway...JJB next...While the guys are window shopping, I then...hehehe \grin
hmm...which one should I go for?

let me down...I wanna choosing my golf club
haha...I love this pic. he's so cute
While Rudy's busy choosing his driver
AJ and daddy are choosing the right junior golf club
Testing testing...
put some power in, then swing....
not to forget...a picture ...nice~~~

We didn't buy any in the end. The boys said it would be more cheaper to buy online. So, we went back to Plymouth afterwards. It was just a 3 hours trip and was around lunch time when we reach Plymouth, we went to Kaoshi - a new Japanese restaurant in the city.
==" can't believe it when the drinks arrived. small but £££ T_T
Rudy's chicken ramen soup
My special ramen soup - very fresh prawn
the rest of the gang had bento
and Kok Fung - apologies for the quality

The food were nice but the price are quite dear. Definitely a no no next time. I don't really know how can they survive in this kind of economy. But maybe they're full in the evening, we never know, do we?

That's what we did today. No photos for yesterday but a video for you all to enjoy - AJ's favorite games he really loved. There're 4 parts taken on Friday evening, yesterday morning, afternoon and evening. Enjoy!

Chicken a la Carte

I felt utterly heartbroken...totally heartsick after I watched this video. Please spare yourself a few minutes (just six minutes) to watch this heart. Not suitable for kids.

We have too many wonderful things from the way we are brought up so do appreciate everything anything wholeheartedly. Eventhough it seems priceless to you.

Crazy craze

While I have no memory of where Jimmy was at that time...and AJ had his eyes glued to Bee Movie, I have decided that it's time. It's time...everyone...mum and son gets crazy. Ok...it's the mum going crazy. Here I come....

I know what you're going to say next, "What's wrong with this mum, eh?". I realised that it's a good time to take photos of me and AJ together as I am the camera-woman most of the time.

On an unrelated note, we had pak ting yuk bak kut teh noodles on the other Sunday. It was supposed to have rice but I have bought noodles and is about to go bad soon. So why not have a try. I fried the noddles a bit to make it crispy a little bit. Humnn...It was OK not really very nice compared to rice. There's definitely no second time.

Speaking of which, I had (still has) a terrible headache and sorethroat since Sunday. I had paracetamols throughout the day. The pain came back everytime the dosage gone. 4 tablets on Sunday and 3 today yesterday. =.= It's indeed terrible. and yesterday evening I was walking like a, I know...you're gonna laugh....,like a grandma...see?...because my legs were so weak and couldn't stand up straight. Oh, poor me. I felt so cold so suddenly every now and then even after 1 hour hiding under my duvet. So, I took paracetamol again, two sweaters and socks to warm myself up to get a good night sleep.

The pain came comes back yesterday this morning again leaving me no choice to take sick leave. T___T So eventually I had to stay at home recuperating. Still have the sorethroat with me but at least it's now better than before. Please let me get better soon~~~~

Edited in red color. Sorry, ladies & gents...

Easter trip 2009 - Stonehenge & Newquay

Day 3 - Stonehenge (12-04-2009)

Yeap, Stonehenge was our last destination before heading home. to meet the Hons which we haven't met for nearly 5 years. We can't wait to meet Xavi ourselves too. Very excited indee~d.

We took the country road instead of the motorway so that we can stop at Stonehenge. The place is full of tourists O.o...not surprisingly though, when it's bank holiday the next day. We didn't bother park our car and go into there walk a circle and listen to the portable hand radio. We couldn't touch the stones with our own hand what. Plus it's basically the same when you took the pictures from the fence outside.
You could see it from a distance
Here for a closer view

*nod nod* The waiting is finally over. *nod nod* They arrived a few hours after we reach home. Gordon is still the same old Gordon. Joline is still the same beautiful Joline. An~d Xavier is new to us. You know what Gordon still remember what we did last summer. "Wah~~ I still remember what you did last summer." He said. "Especially that Nonong" Nonong is an ex-classmate of Jimmy at University and went with us for summer holiday to Leeds, Gordon's place.

==" The story goes like this, we were staying at Gordon's for a few days. On the second / third day, Gordon's plumbing system got sick. Don't know why but the basement were flooded. Flooded with yuckie dirty stuff. Fortunately, we're living on the floors above it. haih...and they're really smelly. We felt really guilty to leave such a mess. and Gordon still remember what has happened until today. haha...

OK, where was I?

Xavi is really cute. He giggles almost everything. haha...I so love all his actions. AJ was a bit shy at first but within minutes AJ and Xavi become best friends. They got really well together. Make me wanna have another baby again ~~~~ =.=

AJ loves Gordon wei...

Here's a video of AJ and Xavi

Day 4 - Newquay (13-04-2009)

It was planned to go to Newquay the next day but Gordon's friend said they shouldn't miss Newquay and since we still haven't been there ourselves, so why not? To our dismay, it was raining when we arrived. We hit a pub straight away since we're hungry.
Hubby's beef & bacon burger with cheese
Gordon's chicken hunters
while AJ sits on the high chair
Xavi in the pushchair taking J2O
Both the couple. I told ya...Joline is pretty neh~~~
Hubby enjoying his lunch
AJ wasn't happy to sit in his highchair too long doing nothing
Aint the beach so awesome?

I love the Newquay beach and we would certainly go there again soon. Soon when the weather is good. Woot~~ Can't wait. haha...

The next day, hubby, AJ and I went back to the normal life, AJ to nursery and the rest to work. While Gordon and the family head off to Eden's project before going back home.

Easter trip 2009 - Westfield

Day 2 - Westfield (11-04-2009)

About 2 hours drive from Stratford, we reach Westfield - the biggest shopping mall in UK, I think. Hmmm....
outside view of the mall - so huge~~~
electronic car park - cool~~~
The tech even goes to map information pod, touch pad screen but wasn't sensitive enough. So, we ended up walking by ourselves using paper map
Lucky hubby huh - me and AJ were in the restaurant at that time.

and guess what! He managed to record a quick snap of their acts. They're imitating their TV character. Very good, I can tell you especially Bart, the younger Simpson

didn't realise they're still producing Cola in their trademark bottle.
burger...very nice~~~
AJ had his 1st taste on Cola
The big easter bunny
AJ: Oii...you come here! come here! at this instant, I said!
Look at the store's ceiling. Very nice~~~

The mall is very big indeed to be honest but we don't have things to buy (not much sales), so we thought let's stop by at the China town for some nice meal. Misato~~~~~ We're not so far away anyway. About 20 mins drive, says the SatNav. Only to reach there after more than an hour drive =.= There was some kind of protest by the Pakis / Indian on stopping the war. or maybe not! Many road were blocks and as such traffic, traffic and traffic. There was no turning back ~~~ haih ~~~ We shall never again drive in London.

You know what, there was once our car didn't move an inch for nearly 10 minutes. We were just in front of a traffic light and we saw the lights turned from red, orange, green, back to red again and again for 4 times! and we still didn't move a bit!!!! Can you believe it? and we were just within 10 minutes walk (15 the most) to the Chinatown! I wish we could just park the car there and walk there straight away.

And there was a stall selling bags just by the street and I saw one I really like while stuck in the traffic. Bright yellow about the same size which cute ma bought for me. Would be great to put my stuff in there. I could have just go down and buy the bag and come back to the car in that kind of traffic. But I don't have cash with me T___T Why is it so hard to get a bag I really like?
Thanks again SatNav while we're stuck in the traffic. =.=
My fav~~~ pork ginger bento from Misato

Right, we only spend 2 hours in Chinatown. The parking was so expensive. Can you believe it? £9 for just 2 hours. Freaking expensive! Of course we didn't have time to sit and have a relaxing meal at Misato. We ordered take away! We managed to hit some groceries shop to get egg tart, wife's biscuits, cup noodles, guava~~~ hoh, I just realised they have guava in UK! my favorite. Guava...again expensive, so only bought tiga biji. T___T We spend a fortune in just that 2 hours. Very scary~~

Right, Travelodge next for a good rest. Without doubt, AJ was so happy running or rather walking excitedly everywhere in the room. and oh, we had to request to change to the next door room because the first room is smell of smoke. Luckily, they have a spare room. AJ enjoyed playing in this small bottom shelf.
